About the Rawlings Creative Group of Louisville, KY
Rawlings Creative Group was founded in 1998 by Gary Rawlings, a former advertising agency executive and writer. With experience with such newspapers as the Louisville Courier-Journal and the Lexington Herald-Leader, Gary quickly grasped the significance of the Internet and its far reaching influence on business.
Starting as a one-man office, the company quickly, yet carefully, expanded as demand for his services increased and he formed Louisville Web Group in 2001 to focus on the Web, while Rawlings Creative remained focused on graphics and publishing.
In 2004, Louisville Web Group became one of the region’s first web companies to adopt Web Standards-acceptable coding techniques. In 2005, Louisville Web Group began developing dynamic websites, e-commerce and custom applications exclusively in PHP.
In 2008, in a partnership with and at the knee of Raymond Deschenes, Google-certified SEM Specialist and George O’Conner, President of Just1.com, a Google-certified Analytics Specialist, Gary developed his expertise in SEO and SEM enabling Louisville Web Group to add that specialty to its menu of services.
And in early 2010, with the addition of experienced developers Michael Baker, Nate Bolin and Justin Prince, Louisville Web Group dedicated dedicated itself to the development of open source e-commerce solutions with an emphasis on Magento.
Rawlings Creative Group began pubishing Travehost Magazine, a hospitality publication targeted to travelers, in 2005. Today, Travelhost is distributed through a network of more than 100 hotels, visitors centers and beds and breakfast around the Greater Louisville marketplace. In 2010, Rawlings Creative published a specialty publication for Kentucky Proud, a division of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. And starting in Spring, 2011, Rawlings Creative, through a partnership with Marriott Louisville Downtown, will begin publishing an in-room hard cover book that will serve as a community guide for Marriott guests.
