Horror stories abound...
One of my clients left his web site in the charge of a trusted friend, who put something together for him a few years ago. Problem is, the trusted friend is no longer a trusted friend. To make matters worse, he has full control of my client's domain name and web site. Whups! The resultant fiasco cost my client a lot of money and more than few gray hairs.

Another time, a client bought a domain name (nobody really "owns" a domain name. They are always leased, but we refer to the status as owning) and put his mickeyd@msn.com e-mail address as his contact e-mail address. Over the ensuing years, my client changed e-mail addresses every time he changed his ISP which was often. So when he wanted to do some stuff with his web site the domain name company refused his request because he changed his contact e-mail address without changing the domain record to reflect the change. He went back to msn and asked for his mickeyd@msn.com e-mail address back and - you guessed it - somebody else already had it. It took months to straighten out the mess.

Rawlings Creative Group won't let that happen. We put you in full control of your web site, your domain name and the server space in which it is housed.

But the most important reasons are...
A professional creative agency or web development firm knows how to code your web site so that the search engines like Google, MSN, Yahoo and others can spider it and include it among the first few pages of search results. That's called Search Engine Optimization, or SEO. An ongoing SEO program can be costly, but great results often come with it. But if your site is optimized properly when it is being built, your chances to maximize your search engine standings are much higher.

A professional, International Webmasters Association member can structure your web site so that customers can find what they're looking for quickly and easily and then take action if their fancy has been tickled.

And a professional is likely to be around for awhile. During the tech crash of 2001, nearly all of the Geek operations went out of business, leaving thousands of their customers high, dry and offline. An IWA member is committed to the business, the profession and his or her clientele and will still be around no matter what.
